I will be appearing as an actor on the FOX comedy show “TILL DEATH” starring Brad Garrett. My episode airs THURS, FEB 15th at 8:00 pm. A very funny show and an exhilarating experience. I’m a memeber of the Screen Actors Guild now!

I will be scoring some music for the Oxford Street dance company and performing a series of shows with them in March.

Hi, hope everyone is well!! I’ve been very busy here in LA, performing a lot solo and with the trio and doing recording sessions....

A song I co-wrote with a great new singer/songwriter named Angie Mattson made it onto her new album, produced by friend Nathan Larson. She sent me a mix and it sounded great!

I scored 3 student films in November, one of which I played live to and looped on the fly and they are using that as the final score. Super fun and groovy...

I have finished up LUMINOUS, my new ensemble album and FALLING SKY, my duo project with D.J Bonebreak. Both albums are onsale now here on the website and via my label www.kufala.com.

A great new band on Virgin, A FINE FRENZY, asked me to put strings on their debut album which my good friend Hal Cragin is producing. It turned out great and was a wonderful experience. Another album I recorded on, UNKNOWN BOY, just won an L.A Music Award for singer/songwriter of the year. Congrats Adam Daniels!!

Gonna finish another solo album in the next 3 weeks and we’re recording all the shows in Nov/Dec for a 2006 live album.

CHRIS RECORDS W/ EARL HARVIN: Chris spent a day in January recording with truly creative musician and absoulutely amazing drummer EARL HARVIN (SEAL, THE THE, AIR, RICHARD THOMPSON) for Chris’s new rock album (slated for release in Spring 2006).

TOM WAITS’ RHYTHM SECTION BACKS UP CHRIS MURPHY: Historical bassist LARRY TAYLOR (TOM WAITS, JOHN LEE HOOKER, BUDDY GUY, multi-Grammy recipient, and a founding member of CANNED HEAT) and drummer STEVE HODGES (TOM WAITS, SMASHING PUMPKINS, DAVID LYNCH) who have been WAITS’ band for over 20 years, record 2 songs with Chris for his new album.

MIKE WATT, punkrock bass legend, (Firehose, Minutemen, Banyan) plays some low end on Chris’s new album.

WILCO GUITARIST NELS CLINE: Chris hosts NELS CLINE (WILCO) in the studio for a day of amazing guitar overdubs on Chris’ new album. CLINE is an esteemed LA guitar legend and a major force in the world of improvised, avantgarde music.

SOLO ALBUM: Chris is working on his 2nd solo release with friend and producer KRISTIAN DUNN, a great bass player/looper who has a cool bass, drums, and live-looping band called EL TEN ELEVEN.

Chris records with Victoria Williams! Acclaimed singer/songwriter Williams collaborated in the studio with Chris on three new instrumental tracks for Chris’ new album. “Victoria and I wrote a bunch of very funky new songs with drummer Dave Hill that are turning out great!”

NEW ALBUM in the WORKS!! Chris has been recording in NYC with producers Dave Hill and Don Dilego working on songs for his new album. Chris has also been working in L.A. with drummer D.J. Bonebrake from the punk rock band X on a bunch on new material.

CHRIS’ NEW ALBUM “NOIR” JUST OUT. Called “the saddest painting I have ever seen” by Lisa Harris, Noir is a collection of 11 solo violin pieces written and performed by Chris. “THE HUMANE GAME” a new independent feature now in post-production has hired Chris to score the film. Described as a black comedy about the South, relationships and reality TV, the movie is slated for release this fall and will make the festival rounds.

Master drummer D.J. Bonebreak — longtime member of historical L.A. punk rock band X — has been performing with Chris all winter and spring. Says Chris, he’s the “coolest drummer and person I’ve worked with in a long time. Every note of every gig is sheer art and pleasure!”
